GI-Trac Terms:
Mission critical: A mission critical application will not let you down, if there is a failure of some kind when the database comes back on-line you will find yourself at the exact spot where you left off.
State-of -the-art: This world leading software uses cutting edge technology forecasting that keeps you at the peak of technology longer.
Open standards based: An open standards based system means that you will not have to deal with proprietary turn-key operations that require the purchase of obsolete, slow, and arcane computer equipment. An open system also communicates with other systems, by employing current standard Formats like HL7, XML, and TCP/IP which allow communication with other hospital systems and speeds up data entry.
XML: XML (Extensible Markup Language) is a new standard format used to exchange data and allow collaboration among different types of clinical systems
Scaleable: GI-Trac can be used on any size system from a single desk top PC to a huge client server based system with the capability to network between several care facilities.
Networkable: Using a network allows for real-time multiple accesses to individual patient records and may be accessed from any computer on the network. GI-Trac can also network between several care facilities with secure access.
Flexibility: GI-Trac is flexible on several levels. GI-Trac employs a revolutionary framework that gives you, the user, flexibility of usage while still affording you the advantages of employing ·standardized terminology and structure. You are now able to customize your system to reflect your need, your priorities, and your style of practicing medicine, while keeping the collaborative study feature in tact. GI-Trac allows translation into other languages, new fields can be added, and you may track any aspect of your practice you deem appropriate. There are also flexible security systems, which can meet your specific requirements no matter how restrictive they may be.
Security Provisions: This flexible system can limit who is able to view certain patients files. A variety of levels of access are available for the supervisor, attending pysicians, fellows, nurses, and secretaries. The supervisor can determine which level of access each individual may have. You may use PIN codes or may employ biometric fingerprint scanning devices. GI-Image can network between several care facilities with secure access. Each group of patients records would be invisible to the members of the other group.
Kennedy Kassebaum: Our software supports Kennedy-Kassebaum health care reform bill and its security, confidentiality and portability software provisions (public law 104-191). Biosecure biometric security devices may be used and doctor sign off is implemented.
User Friendly: GI-Trac's new design allows for freedom of movement through the program forwards and backwards, and has several entry methods. (GI-Trac could even be used on a touch pad system.) Built in follow up scheduling calendar, point and click screen style and many other user friendly features are included.
Complete feature set: GI-Trac can be used to track any GI procedure.
MST:: ASD and GI-Trac, as the first company and product to support a minimum standard terminology design more than 7 years ago, has again pushed the envelope with advanced technology that supports the MST in a super set fashion which means we go beyond the minimum standard terminology. Under the (ATP) Advanced Technology Program we have also been developing and testing CORBA and a Web-based workflow management system, specifically designed for managing Health Care workflow in a distributed environment.
Year 2000 ready: This program is certified year 2000 ready.
We listen to you: Each GI-Trac User has the opportunity to participate in our users group. This group has input into future features of GI-Trac and may participate in collaborative studies with other members of the group.
Collaborative Research: GI-Trac users may communicate with other users worldwide over the internet to facilitate collaborative studies.
GI-Image Terms:
Removable Storage: This gives GI-Image the ability to have high performance filing system that does not slow down or corrupt your patient medical data with large image files, but GI-Image also links the data togehter using DICOM with type 10 headers for easy recovery. Other systems without removeable storeage, will over time, slow down and perhaps cease to function altogether.
Compatibility: Universal endo equipment input compatibility allows you to use GI-Image with any endoscopy equipment currently on the market.
DICOM: Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine is the standard adopted by the ASGE. Patient text information storage are an essential element in image filing, because this format keeps the digital image file with the text associated with that image. Be sure to ask for the full DICOM support standard, since most GI products say they use DICOM, but not with the type of text information required, which is not any more useful than using any other generic formats (like JPEG or TGA or TIFF).
DICOM VL: The DICOM (Visible Light) standard for color images.
Crystal Clear Image Capture: GI-Image provides a true digital image capture via FireWire as well as via RGBS, a standard capture capability that gives you 400% more bandwidth than S-Video only products. GI-Image gives you broadcast Quality, whereas S-Video is a lower resolution toy video solution.
Multi-Standard Format Support: GI-Image uses more than 40 different file formats to interface with any application so you can export or import and file any image you deem helpful or necessary for a complete data file on your patient.
Resolution independent Image structure: GI-Trac will adjust automatically to any screen size.
Supports static, scanned, and hi-res images as well as full motion video: This feature allows you to file any image that is pertinent to your patient from any source. for example: X-Ray, EUS, endoscope, fluoroscope, and patient photos, including ones from new digital cameras.
Compatible with tele-medicine product (GI-Link): Our Tele-Medicine capabilities allow you to audio-visually collaborate with other physicians within your center or around the world.
Modular: GI-Trac and GI-Image are modular. This feature gives you the option to use GI-Trac alone or in conjunction with GI-Image.
User Friendly: Single button operation, new screen style and many new user friendly features are included.
Full remote and portable capability: Use the Tele-Medicine feature to contact remote locations.
Unlimited amount of Images per procedure or Patient: Unlike other product we do not limit the number of images you can take during the procedure. GI-Image allows you to pick and choose, post procedure, which images you wish to save permanently. An image library is easily created for research and presentation.
Firewire: GI-Image is the only system which provides a firewire (direct digital to digital) connection to new scopes with that ability.
Year 2000 ready: This program is certified to be year 2000 ready.
Customer Input: Each GI-Image user has the opportunity to participate in our user's group. This group has input into future features of GI-Trac and may participate in collaborative studies with other members of the group.
Collaborative Research: ASD provides web space for GI-Trac users to communicate with other users worldwide to facilitate collaborative studies. |
